Steve Suite joined USBLF’s Board in 2019 and was named executive director in January of 2020. He served as Chief Administrative Officer for Mountain West Small Business Finance (MWSBF) from 1992 – 2020.
During his tenure at MWSBF, the company had more than 4340 small business loans funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), equating to over $2billion in gross debentures and in $4.5billion in total project size helping to create or retain approximately 163,000 jobs throughout the mountain west with the overwhelming majority in Utah.
When Suite came to MWSBF (at the time, known as Deseret Certified Development Company), the development company had one office in Salt Lake City and one in Orem. In his 28 years, MWSBF expanded to six offices and seven states.
Prior to his time at MWSBF, Suite was employed as the executive vice president of administration & human resources for American Stores, Inc. He has also served on numerous government and civic non-profit boards and committees ranging from the Utah Centennial Gala Committee, 2002 Olympic Luge Committee, Salt Lake County Planning Committee, Salt Lake County Board of Adjustments, Utah Chamber Artists to Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum, where he also served as chairman of their board for three years.
Suite loves sci-fi and fantasy (books and movies), traveling with his wife and spending time with his extended family—especially his ten grandchildren.
